Hey, I’m Shane, a design engineer based in Somerset, UK. I’ve spent nearly 20 years designing and building digital products, working closely with teams and clients to turn ideas into things people actually use. My work focuses on clarity, performance, and maintainability, with a growing interest in how AI can support better design and development decisions.
I run Studio Brio, a small design and technology studio where I work hands-on across product strategy, design, and front-end development, building websites, apps, and automation projects.
Outside of work, you’ll often find me baking with my daughter, perfecting my espresso coffee, walking the dog, or watching Formula 1. I also spend time tinkering with side projects and thinking about design, technology, and the role of AI in product development.

This site is built with Next.js and TypeScript. MDX compiles Markdown into React components that power the Notes section, which is rendered server-side. The typeface is Geist, and styling is handled with Tailwind CSS v4 and shadcn/ui components, with Motion (motion.dev) used for animations. Icons are by Huge Icons. The codebase is hosted on GitHub and deployed via Vercel. Analytics are powered by Umami.
